    Saturday 22 September
  • Kelt Capital $2,000,000 Stakes

The $3.5 million dollar Kelt Capital Spring Carnival is New Zealand's richest racing event. The Carnival kicks off with the Group I $250,000 Mudgway PartsWorld Stakes, considered by many racing enthusiasts to be the best Weight-For-Age event in New Zealand, followed 3 weeks later by the prestigious Group I $250,000 Stoney Bridge Stakes and culminating 2 weeks later with the Carnival's grand finale, the Kelt Capital $2,000,000 Stakes. The Kelt Capital Stakes Premier Raceday is New Zealand’s richest raceday, and besides New Zealand’s richest race, the Kelt Capital $2,000,000 Stakes, features two of New Zealand racing's most high profile events, the Group II $100,000 Golan Hawke's Bay Guineas and Listed $100,000 G R Kelt Memorial.

There are a range of hospitality options available on all 3 days - from corporate entertainment in a reserved Lounge or Marquee to a lazy day in the sun on the lawn Hawke’s Bay Racing can tailor a package for every individual need. For the brave at heart there are Punters Competition on all 3 days, culminating in the Bay Ford NZ Punter of the Year on the Kelt Capital Stakes Premier raceday, or for the young in years and the young at heart it’s party time in racing most retro venue, the Club Festivus Lounge. You can strut your stuff on the catwalk in the Fashion in the Field, enjoy fine dining, exquisite wines and prime trackside viewing from the “Marquee City” situated right alongside Hawke's Bay Racing's premier turf, take in the comfort of the Hylton-Smith (Members) Stand or simply enjoy the action from the Champagne lawn area.

There's a host of non-raceday events to enjoy over the Carnival as well, including the glamorous Mercedes Racing Awards, which will be held in Napier on Friday 31 August 2007, so be sure to make Hawke’s Bay your destination spot for Spring of 2007.  Ticketing for the Mercedes Awards is available from New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing, please phone (04) 576 6240 or email simon.cooper@nzracing.co.nz.
